When your friend asks for help, you help them. When your friend asks you to be on their hilarious car-themed game show, you say “yes” and think about what sort of strange Autopian-themed shirt to wear. It’s been a while since I’ve been involved with a game show (last time I was in a gold speedo), so you can watch it below and tell me how you think I did.
This was the third episode of “Zack Klapman’s Driver Test,” which I’ve written about previously, and I wasn’t that surprised to be asked. The show is hosted, edited, filmed, guested(?), and produced almost entirely by good friends. Hell, halfway through filming this episode the one and only JF Musial showed up to fill in as scorekeeper.
You’d think with this huge advantage that they’d take it easy on me. They did not. The only help I got during the filming of this episode was a great partner in frequent Autopian contributor and extremely literal madwoman Emme Hall. Facing us were the dynamic denim duo of Mike Danger and Lyn Woodward, both of KBB fame. Technically, it’s a game like Taskmaster or Whose Line Is It Anyways where the points don’t matter. Except… the points do matter? The video is embedded below, but you can also watch it here.
While is always my aim in any challenge, my real goal was to make Zack of the crew (including the editor, the great Armin Balg) laugh as much as possible. I think I was successful?
Just to make things a little more exciting, halfway through filming one of the teams (ahem, not our team) made a joke that they quickly regretted. Being good sports, we all agreed to re-film the question. Can you guess what the question was? There are like three good jabs I got in that reference what happened.
If you enjoyed this, they also made an episode with Larry, Jeff, Cory, and Vinny:
You get a bunch of dudes together and WWII is going to come up a lot!
It’s a great show and it was a fun time. I think all game shows should be hosted by Zack as a rule. I’m curious how many of the answers you’d have known off the top of your head and which, of the questions we missed, is the most embarrassing.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, Emme and I need to catch up with the rest of our Hollywood Celebrity Bus Tour group.

you and Emme was robbed!!
That was one seriously attractive set of players, on both teams. Shazam.
So much fun hanging with you, Matt! Let’s go belt sanding soon!!
The “you know you’re a real journalist…” crack was very VERY good.
We recorded with Zack for the Hooniverse podcast today – will drop in April. We talked for a while about the Driving Test.
Really great new show and clever idea!
Can’t watch video but Did you win? And if so what did you win?
Not enough taskmaster or editing. Is it a game show or a talk endlessly show? I suggest putting a huge barrel of tennis balls by each team and when the first team has an answer they declare and start throwing tennis balls at the other team until they have their answer. Also start/stop is clearly the best answer for question one
That was fun. You guys were funny. Lyn and Emme made my day.
You’re just gonna drop an hour long show on us in the middle of the afternoon? Do you want NOTHING to get done this afternoon?
Basically, yes.
I noddednoff while watching on the couch around 7PM EDT…
As a game show buff I must state if this is going to be an hour long show an electric shock device is going to be needed
Ya did great, Hardibird
