Each week, we’ll kick down some sweet, sweet swag to Autopian Members, the cool-kids club for car people that you really should have joined by now. What’s the holdup? Yes, I know: get to the prize. As you probably guessed from the top graphic, we’re giving away hats this week. Three, in fact, and they’re the highly sought-after, completely collectible, definitely-dome-covering Yawn Patrol caps we had made specifically to generate yuks amongst the early risers of the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance’s “Dawn Patrol.”
In case you missed it, the good-natured giveaway turned into a sweaty-handed stampede as Pebble people scrambled for the hats in a melee that I like to think looked like a swirling maelstrom of dust with the occasional fist, foot, and hat flying out in the mode of a cartoon brawl – but in fact, it looked like this:
So yeah: people love these hats. And they’re nice hats! Real quality headwear here, all embroidered and stuff with a snazzy lil’ belt in the back, not a plastic snappy thing. Concours people demand such premium milliner details, obviously.

OOH. All right, this is one I’m jealous of.
Also, all of my hats save for an extra-warm corduroy cap are stuck in a movers’ warehouse in Texas (and have been since the 4th). Any hats won might beat my furniture to my new house! Ugh.
Are there plans to sell shirts soon? I got my shirts for my membership, and they are awesome. But I’d love to buy another one or two.

Kinda not related question. Who would I ask to have the site show up as a member? I’ve been in on a lower tier and got the T shirts to prove it but I am still seeing ads and not able to read the members only articles. Not the end of the world but would be nice to not have to scroll past the big ads that jump out.
Try Matt, I have seen him help other members with account issues.

When I saw “Swag Swednesday” my brain immediately assumed some sort of Volvo/Saab related giveaway.

Well, I was disappointed. Anyone got a trunk key cylinder for a 1988 Saab 900 turbo convertible? Apparently they are unobtainium.
Any chance you can jury rig one from a regular door cylinder lock?
Edit: this sort of thing has been on my mind a lot as I try to scheme a way to put both my roll cart and my bench on the same lock somehow
