‘The Ninth-Gen Honda Accord Limo Isn’t Real and Can’t Hurt You.’ The Ninth-Gen Honda Accord Limo:

Honda Accord Limo Ts

Out of all the weird “car you wouldn’t think was a limo is actually a limo” vehicles out there, this innocuous yet wildly offbeat ninth-gen Honda Accord limousine may somehow just be the weirdest of them all. Perhaps this is down to the fact that it is the ninth-gen Sport model, complete with the two-tone 19-inch wheels that were once catnip for thieves, as well as the little Sport badge on the back still intact. One Redditor once referred to it as the “Accord Spoooooooooooooort.”

Digging into it a little, this car is (or at least was) operated by a rental company in Mexico called Cancun Executive VIP Transportation Bus rental, and you could, at one point, rent it for as little as $115 per hour in Cancun—more if you’re in Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, or Tulum. However, we got in touch with Eduardo Fernandez, who handles bookings, and he informed us that the Accord Spoooooooooooooort is no longer in service and hasn’t been for the past four years. Jacob Auernheimer (who snapped the pic below) says he saw this car driving around Mexico just Tuesday, so perhaps it’s currently being used as a runabout vehicle for somebody at the rental firm.

Fernandez says the Accord was originally modified into limo duty in Guadalajara, and when it was in service, it was about as popular as other car-based limos in the fleet. “Most demanded are SUVs,” he says. According to its website, Cancun Executive has limousines based on a Hummer and a Chrysler 300, which are common enough limo cars, but there’s also a stretch Ford 500 and a longboi version of a Toyota Tundra.

The Accord Sport limo (Acoooooooord?) remains the most jarringly hilarious, though. Like bumping into a kid you used to go to high school with at a cocktail party… except he’s a waiter. In Cancun.

…but there’s also a stretch Ford 500 and … Toyota Tundra.

Plebs need limos too, so they can also experience LUXURY.

I await the Ford Fiesta and Toyota Hilux Champ limos for the masses.

I have an EX-L 9th Gen Accord in the same color. These pictures crack me up! They’re like the Google StreetView pics Jason shared a few weeks ago. And while my Accord has plenty of rear leg room, it’s not going to accommodate a wedding party toasting champagne.

That said, I would rather rent one of these over a stretched Hummer or Excursion.

Pity the Sport models back then didn’t have a moon roof. But it might have had a 6-speed manual transmission. And a 185 HP four-banger.

Someone needs to make a smart car limo.. just so that Mercedes can write about it. I, for one, would read the crap out of an article like that.

But otherwise, the Accord limo looks great. Also, I’m glad they did it in gray and not white or black.

Now for the dream version… maybe a Bishop specialty or something… but what about taking a Cozy Coupe, giving it a powertrain, and embiggening it to adult-size limo proportions? Everyone’s inner 5-year-old is screaming for this to be real.

Oh yeah. Featuring at Cozzy’s this weekend. I should bust that joke out, drop the mic and leave.

AUTOPIAN NIGHT AT COZZY’S – let’s do it… I mean, I’m guessing the headliner wouldn’t be thrilled, but for the 30 minutes before she goes up I would make your night.

So true. This town needs an Autopian-friendly get-together in the worst way. I am yet to see a car meet that would be ideal for someone with, I dunno, an old Subaru GL or a Yugo.

I really need to just put one together, it really wouldn’t be that hard.

Accord stretches have popped up now & then with every generation. I remember them in car mags in the 2nd and 3rd (pop up headlights!) gens but there are probably others too. Had to google the firm just to see the Ford 500. I secretly love those, and a “L” version would have been an excellent livery service car.

Some say the Accord has a limo-like ride, but I think that’s a bit of a stretch.

Sedan limos are the worst. You have to really hunch over or even crawl to get to the seats behind the driver or along the sideways row.

Also, anyone who calls a limo with that layout “2 rows, one column” is wrong.

Most things are worse than the LiMu Emu Limo. It’s yellow, has classic limo lines, and contains a very large bird. All positive.

You can ride with the murderbird, I’d rather take the bus.

You mean the one where they ‘shopped a Duster front onto some ’90s Caddy limo?

I’m not sure it’s ‘shopped! There’s a commercial with the Doug guy trying to park it, and it clearly has the Duster face on it. I think someone might have gone through the work to graft a Duster clip onto a ’90s Caddy limo.
