The weather is finally warm again, the salt is washed from the roads, and the days are longer. Oh yeah, it’s time to have a blast with cars. Detroit’s Autopians are setting up a meet and greet to kick off a warm weekend and you should be there!
It’s been far too long since we had our Michigan contingent of readers gathered in one place. So, let’s change that! One of our Autopian Ambassadors, the world’s foremost Pontiac Vibe expert, Nick Hernandez, wants to see your rides and hang out this Friday.
Sadly, the Autopian Detroit bureau is still vacant after David’s departure. Likewise, I’ll be treating my dad to some fun this weekend, so I cannot attend, either. But that doesn’t mean that you should miss out on the fun. The Detroit-Area Autopian Reader Facebook group is now 396 members strong, and as we’ve shown time and time again with previous meetups, Detroit knows how to party.
If you want in, here are the details:
- Who?: Autopian readers and any other car fans.
- What?: An Autopian meetup/miniature car show.
- When?: Friday June 6, 2025 6:30 PM ET.
- Where?: Walmart Parking lot in Troy, MI: 2001 W Maple Rd, Troy, MI 48084
- Why?: To hang out with other Autopians.
- How?: Just show up, stand around, look at cars, have fun.

The weather forecast is calling for only a low chance of precipitation in the area. Otherwise, expect temperatures around 70 degrees and partly cloudy skies, perfect for a car show! So get out there, have a great time, and be sure to send photos and stories back to us because we love to see what you have going on.

Sunday morning cars and coffee this Sunday in the Detroit area too at the old Twist Drill factory in Rochester. Look up the U-Haul on the corner of Rochester Rd and Tienken for directions.

I think I’ll make it with the old GMC today.
