And now all those PR folks know you were lying. Sure, you didn’t publish it when it would have been an issue, but you still managed to renege. Nissan’s gonna stop allowing in journalists who can sketch now.
This was a Rogue drawing in both subject and situation.
Torch, it says it right on the drawing, albeit upside down: 2014 Rogue. You even underlined it. Top right.
Torch
Habitual Line Stepper
-Charlie Murphy.
Fuck yo’ Rogue, Nissan! Fuck yo’ Rogue!
Of course it would be Nissan that got in a tizzy about someone revealing what their aggressively bland crossover would kind of look like. I could understand if it was something more interesting like the new Z, but the Rogue? Nobody gives a shit about the Rogue.
Looks like a Nissan Rogue to me.
definitely a Rogue, i’m honestly surprised they had the 2.5 in 2015.
I actually feel good about myself having guessed what it was without peeking at the comments. I also didn’t notice what was written in the pic until afterwards.
nissan blarghmobile
The sketch looks like a Honda HRV to me
You might call that a rough sketch, but compared with my skills, it’s practically a photograph.
My sketch’s make Torch’s look like a van Gogh..
I have been a PR guy for almost 30 years and I am yet to have my own group of PR guys to murmur with. Sigh.
Given the number of commentors that immediately knew it was a Rogue, perhaps
Nissanunspoken PR hacks were right to want to confiscate your sketch?I mean, a sketch doesn’t mean I was going to publish it?
I’m just trying to say that I’m impressed by your sketch and I actually really like it…more than I like the actual design of that era Rogue.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhh thank you
And I just showed it to two of my co-workers that own this era Rogue, and they both recognized it immediately and liked it.
It’s obviously a Rogue. Which is the least “secrety” secret out there. It’s a 7/8 scale Murano.
You could insert the Office meme “It’s the same picture”.
Nissan designers were just so ashamed that they had so little creativity, they didn’t want it to leak to the public.
I turned the poicture upside down and read your notes. It was the 2014 ______ _____.
Dude you went Rogue on the PR junket.
It’s got The Nissan Grille, so I have to guess Rogue based on proportions.
Based on the sketch I was certain it was a nissan or a mazda or a lexus or some other forgettable crossover but when I right-clicked and chose to open the pic in a new tab so I could see it a bit bigger the filename kinda gave it away…

Spoilerrrrs!
So those PR people had never encountered a Rogue artist before?
COTD
He was given an Altima-tum . . . Give up the sketch or say Ariya-derci to your press credentials.
Given how ground-breakingly extreme the Nissan Rogue’s design was, I’m not surprised the PR team freaked out.
Man, you really had Nissan’s biscuits in a vise with that NDA-shattering doodle of the 2015 Rogue, didn’t you?
