Airport Suitcase Racing Should Be A Motorsport: COTD

Suitcaseracing

Ever since the invention of the motor and engine, gearheads have been obsessed with seeing which thing can go the fastest. People will race anything, from combine harvesters to belt sanders. I think a reader just invented a new kind of racing that I desperately want to see.

I wrote about the YouTubers who built a modern version of the 1991 Mazda Suitcase Car. M. Park Hunter:

Vidframe Min Top
Vidframe Min Bottom

Screaming through a crowded airport at 20+ mph on a 2-cycle folding kart with scooter steering is likely to become the final item on your Bucket list.

Spikedlemon:

Gather a few people in the airport with their own suitcase cars, some red & green turtle shells, a few banana peels, and you’ve got yourself a race!

Wait, hold on here, Spikedlemon might be “cooking,” as the kids say. Remember the last time you were stuck at the airport forever because of a flight delay or cancellation? Suitcase racing would make that time fly by!

Angry Bob:

You can’t check anything with gasoline in it. The tank can’t even smell like gas.

I learned this when I tried to check a chainsaw.

Don’t ask.

Jason Torchinsky

Jason wrote about a silly failure with his Citroën 2CV’s shift linkage. Canopysaurus:

Thankfully, you were able to welcome back the cotter pin.

Sklooner:

Eastern European cars rock is factory part- Lada toolkit is rock and vodka, if rock does not fix, drink vodka, repeat as necessary.

Library of Context:

Conveniently the roof rolls back so you can carry that rake with you all time in preparation for you next breakdown. Those French engineers thought of everything.

CSRoad:

Gloryhole shifter went floppy when the rubber came off!?!
No way!

Jason also wrote about the taillights of Car Week. Y2Keith:

Me: *sees headline* Ooooh, I’ve been waiting for this!

Jason: *opens with* “I know you’ve been waiting for this.”

Me: GET OUT OF MY HEAD, TORCHINSKY!!!

Urban Runabout:

Is anyone else here wondering which one Jason was yelled at for touching?

Mike Harrell:

Just because he’s only written about one there’s no reason to assume it wasn’t all of them.

Have a great evening, everyone!
