Which goes to show how far Americans have been inculturated to put up with insane shit the civilized world thinks is insane.
Audi?
The state of Kansas revoking every trans person’s Drivers License immediately should scare the hell out of everyone.
THIS.
Holy crap that really happened. The law went into effect today.

Seriously. Just horrific.
Yeah, basically overnight, Kansas became worse for trans people than Texas, and that’s impressive. Our site’s policy is to avoid politics, of course, or else I would have written a story about that.
If you are interested in reading journalism about the laws that affect me, I highly recommend reading the work of Erin Reed!
Mercedes, with all respect, this is not politics, it’s good versus evil. I’m frankly disappointed with The Autopian for conflating the two. If an automotive topic intersects with American fascism, it’s your duty to highlight it, not sweep it under the carpet.
You’re a trooper and we love you (and your wife). Be safe.
As if anyone needed another reason to never go to Kansas. Hey kids let’s go to a state that hates the others and is stone cold flat and boring. Nope
And birth certificates.
Those ghouls are evil bastards and should be shunned.
This reminds me of what seemed to be the media/social media consensus on San Francisco a few years ago. “DON’T GO THERE! HUMAN FECES EVERYWHERE. USED NEEDLES ON EVERY SIDEWALK! ALL SIDEWALK SPACE OCCUPIED BY HOMELESS PEOPLE!” I dunno – maybe it was bad at some point, but we were going there regularly back in ’22-’23 and never saw anything like this in any of the neighborhoods we wandered around in. (Of course, we did avoid the Tenderloin.) I’d say that there actually fewer homeless people in Union Square than there used to be. But you never would have known it from the media.
Whoever it was obviously does not spend enough time in the USA, and takes too much stock in the doom and gloom nonsense seen on news and social media etc. Vast majority of people in the USA are awesome people who mind their business, even if they don’t agree with someones life choices. Bro needs to get outside and touch some grass wtf.
As long as you ignore border patrol arresting tourists with a valid visa.

By a vast margin examples like the one you mention are the exception, not the rule.
Just *one* is too many.
Let this report scare you, no. The number of us yelling “DEAR GOD NO, DO NOT COME HERE. NOT NOW.” probably should.
Are there plenty of perfectly safe places and nice people? Yeah. There are more of us than there are of them.
But one of the scary things is that the situation is very unpredictable. Kristi’s Gnoems could descend on any major city without warning; or rather, with “warnings” that have been issued to damn near everyone in the western hemisphere.
Then there are invisible dangers, like the CDC being run by antivaxxers and not doing its job. And actively discouraging vaccination. What do vaccination rates look like in Europe? I hope they’re better than here.
