A little while back, Jason told us about how Slate was collaborating with the candy brand Smartie’s to create wraps for their new trucks. These would be the bright, pale pastels that make up the individual flavors of their very chalky candies that come in rolls that I usually just bust open and dump the entire contents of into my mouth.
That had me thinking of what other candy or food tie-ins we could do with cars?
Smarties was an easy one, since they offer so many pastel colors:

The lovely brown color you could get the Toyota Sienne in with a tan interior was crying out for a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup edition. Some stripes, a few decals, and there you go. There would even be peanut butter cups mashed into the carpet, or at least there would be by around day three of ownership if you know the kind of passengers that ride in the back of these things (I personally have a couple of them).

Nissan hasn’t given us a Pike car in decades, but we could at least have some brightly-color Kicks in special lurid shades. I say a Kicks Peeps edition in the colors of those rather disgusting squishy marshmallow chicks might be ideal.

Some cars were ripe for food themes based on their names. The AMC Concord should have been available in the color of the grape that shared the same name. The Datsun Cherry was never available in a red special edition with scratch-and-sniff seats, at least not that I know of.
Let’s hear more from you! What food-themed special editions make sense for any cars you like, past or present?

Mustang – Chips Ahoy. They don’t taste that great, but you can’t stop eating them.
Jaguar Type 01 and Chunky Bars.
Jaguar chicken tikka masala edition.
The Brits like to pretend it’s theirs, but everyone knows the truth.
Along these lines, a Bratwurst Bentley and Jaeger Schnitzel Rolls Royce would be apropos.
Yeah but chicken Tikka Masala is Scottish. Maybe Saag Panner. That’s close enough to BRG
Toyota Previa and Eggland’s Best eggs.
Taco Bell themed Tacoma
The Ford Mustang Mach-E seafood edition with a frunk full of shrimp.
Bubba Gumps!
I have no reason for this, but my mind immediately dreamed up a Twizzler-themed Lincoln Navigator. Absolutely silly, but I’d kind of like to see it in real life…
Any Soul Red Mazda could be a Twizzler car.
I suspect my brain went with the Lincoln instead of a Miata simply because it is the least likely Twizzler car it could immediately think of.
Hellcat fireball edition.
Great Value candy for free and white Chevy express
Cybertruck. Dum Dums lollipops. So dumb they forgot the b twice and got a cybertruck
See, nobody knows there’s a b.
Corvette Stingray Freddy’s Frozen Custard Edition?
I like the space-booger hood ornament on the Peeps Kicks.
Mitsubishi Mirage Skittles Edition.
They’re small, they’re round, they’re available in fantastic colors, it’s a match made in sugar!
Pontiac Firebird – Coors edition.
Thanks for calling out Peeps as downright disgusting. They rank high on my personal nastiness scale with Mallo Cups, Circus Peanuts, Necco Wafers and popcorn balls. Also that shredded coconut that has the texture of plastic Easter grass…
Nissan Altima Takis fuego edition.
A Mallo Cup themed Acura TSX. THe ride is “creamy smooth”!
The Cybertruck might be the single best vehicle for a Toblerone special edition.
I threw down on brands in GT7’s livery editor. My fave is my Fruit Stripe Porsche 962.

The new “hot” Nissan Sentra is just begging for a Four Loko edition.
The RAM 1500 Rebel Monster Energy Edition available in White
I was going to say Jeep Wrangler Monster Edition, with factory angry face grille, but yours also works
Dum-Dums for Tesla. Suckers for suckers.
Swedish Fish Volvos
What came to mind first was a Nerds edition Tesla.
Toblerone would make a good Range Rover, Skittles belongs with Jeep Wranglers as they’re the only ones that still seem to believe in bright colors.
Let us not forget the Tab-branded 1996 Toyota Corolla that the ginger gay dudes drove on The Sarah Silverman Program. Sorry, Oscar Mayer, it’s the coolest food car!
I miss TaB, damn covid
