Ok, I was mildly amused till I hit “chowder boarding”. Then I lol’d, complete with snorts and everything.

I miss HEB. Their brisket and their rotisserie chicken are both superb. But I don’t miss it enough to move back to SE Texas.

Word. I lived in Corpus for about a year in the mid 90’s. Wasn’t making much, so my splurge for the week was every Saturday on the way to the laundromat, I’d treat myself to some General Tso’s chicken at HEB. I still think of it fondly from time to time, to this day.

I don’t know if you can count the Thompson’s Clam Bar song as a “jingle”. The damn thing has an instrumental bridge.

Tepid Chowder is a great band name. Perhaps a lounge music/punk mashup called “Tepid Chowder and the Blue Chews”?

Griffin is 100% correct about that shitty Canes chicken.

Crinkle cuts are the best cuts. Griffin, you like Arby’s crinkles? Best fry in fast food, IMHO.

Who’s in on setting up the next Waylon Jennings franchise, can’t be beat, (or topped depending on your point of view).

I’ve had Canes once and it was… Fine? Just fine. Our Popeyes is pretty solid (I’m aware that Popeye’s isnt a model of consistency though) but at least Popeyes isnt crazy expensive.

My favorite fast food chicken is probably Dave’s Hot Chicken though. I usually make fun of crinkle cut, but theirs come out perfect every time, they have a good sweet/savory seasoning on them and they come with a nice sauce. And the chicken is always good. Expensive though.

Bishop goes to In-n-Out whenever he’s in Dallas? That kills the theory he’s Jason. Surely Torch would go for something more Texas in Texas since he’s in LA on business about once a month.

Cane’s, much like In-N-Out, pretty much just has one thing on the menu and the only options are the various sizes of that one thing.
