The question is: does Adrian like any Manchester bands? What about Joy Division? I always thought of them as being Goth adjacent…
Yes I like Joy Divison.
Coldplay might be the most boring band to make it big. I don’t know how you can make a full compliment of instruments sound so bland and uninspired.
Elton John does have a seriously good and deep catalog.
I assume Jason’s not in the convo because he’s so into grindcore.
Wonder if he was at Napalm Death and the Melvins at Cat’s Cradle Friday. It was TOTALLY worth the three hour each way drive.
This makes me think about all of the time I used to spend curating the songs on mix CD’s (Sorry Jason, I was lucky enough to grow up in the 90’s with skip protection and find CD’s to be great) for a road trip or a vacation. I recently found a leather binder with a bunch from high school and college. Tossing one of those heavily scratched CD’s into my car instantly brought back a flood of memories.
Life is too short to listen to music you don’t like. But music is also like food, if you don’t sample anything you’ll never know if you like it or not. As my Grandfather used to say, “That’s why there’s chocolate and vanilla”.
