Remember how a week or two ago (I don’t feel like checking) we posted a silly Instagram reel about how I figured out how to store data on salami? Well that ridiculous little video has been seen over two million times at last count, and to celebrate this absurd fact, we made some special commemorative, limited run T-shirts. I’m just here to tell you the window for ordering a salami-data-storage commemorative shirt is almost over, but there’s still time!
Tomorrow is the last day you can order the shirt (it’ll likely arrive after the new year, so if your kink is delayed gratification, like Hank Hill, boy are you in luck) so if you want to be one of the lucky few that can show your support for continued research into data storage on cured meats via a garment you wear, best get to ordering!
If, somehow, you’ve forgotten how this all started, you can watch here:
…and here’s a follow-up announcing the commemorative T-Shirt:
Here’s a full view of the shirt, so you can plan your outfits accordingly:

…and, again, the text comes from the slightly degraded text that was stored on that piece of salami:

The big gift-giving holiday of the year is still coming up fast, so very fast, and you may need a gift that gets there sooner! In that case, what about the grand gift of an Autopian Membership? The gift that keeps on giving!

Or, don’t forget, we have that collaboration with Candylab! You can get the First Official Autopian Land Low-Speed Record Van! Or so many other incredible wooden toy cars!

Yes, this post is a big sales pitch to see if you want to buy stuff. But it’s stuff we genuinely think you’ll like! We got a business to run here, people!
Thanks so much for everything, whether you buy stuff or not.

I bought two shirts. One to wear/use as a pillow (for when I sleep on the ground, like in that Bon Jovi song), another to flip when salami becomes the main storage technology for AI.
I was looking at getting a sticker but $10 shipping was a bit steep, so then I’m like ok I’ll get 2 stickers, then shipping goes up to $15 yikes.
So I went with the Candylab, ordered a Longhorn teal and only $8.71 shipping, a little easier there.
