Sorry, no Mercedes for you tonight, she’s out driving the Mustang Dark Horse SC and RTR. Must be nice. So, you’re stuck with me, but thankfully you provide the laughs for COTD! Let’s have at the comments …
Thomas wrote about the circular Lexus art car (among other strange perturbations), and Sasquatch spoke for some of us, if not all of us, but certainly me, at least:
I have either done too many drugs or not enough drugs for this.
Angrycat Meowmeow came in with a perfect application of meme for the way the circle-Lexus appears to be addressing its own hindquarters. I hadn’t seen this one, but I do love it:
He have class
He give sass
But most importantly
He scream at own ass

Rad Barchetta (not Red, my bad) made me think of the ookiest thing in all of Star Trek for me. Yes, even worse than the Ceti Eel that Khan plunks into Chekov’s helmet and thus, his ear. Said Rad,
Twisted Car looks like a transporter accident.
“Oh no, they’re forming.” Yep, still gives me nightmares.

Matt talked about the extremely 1990s MCA Centenaire, and posited the car’s styling imparts the impression that it “did ALL the cocaine.” Spopepro was unmoved:
I disagree. The Moroder-mobile has always been the standard for pure, Colombian snow, with the troubled history to go with it.

He has a point, it’s the supercar paid for by disco. The Bishop wrote about it here.
Meanwhile, Angrycat Meowmeow seems to have hit the nail on the head regarding its styling. Or hit the cat on its butt.
The butt is so high. It looks like when I pat my cat’s back right at the base of his tail. Especially with the badge placement.

I have not seen the specific cat in question, but I’m on board with the comparison.

Jason opined on his belief that autonomous-capable cars should signal when under computer control, a belief I share (as does Mercedes-Benz, to Torch’s point). Canopysaurus raised the matter of cyborgs (how prescient), and I think my Plan B below could also apply to cyborgs (provided they do not have realistic limbs, à la The Six Million Dollar Man):
But, what about when the vehicle is being driven by a cyborg? They’re both man and machine. Would the light blink or something?

David unleashed a fresh Trade-In Tuesday upon us with the tale of a much-used Wrangler JK equipped with brake calipers secured primarily by luck. Phil saw a chance for a callback, Andy Individual saw the opportunity for an epoxy pun, the best kind of pun:
Phil
Can you reattach the caliper with ratchet straps?
Andy Individual
You have to use JK Weld.
Have a great evening everyone!

“…but thankfully you provide the yucks for COTD!”
Are we really that bad?
And the Barchetta is not red, it’s Rad.
Oops, fixing
Double COTD. You’re too kind.
The cat in question makes frequent appearances in the discord!
I gotta make more time for the Discord
