I know we’ve had a lot of Monterey Car Week/Pebble Beach content lately, but there’s a good reason for that: we were just at Monterey Car Week/Pebble Beach. See the connection? It’s subtle, but it’s there. Even if one could somehow ignore the cars at Car Week, making it just Week, I think it could still be a fascinating event to witness, because of all the people there.
I know you want to know this hot behind-the-curtain goss, right? Sure you do! All you have to do is become a member.
I’m thinking of a scenario like this, “Hey George, ya know that blue leather we’ve had so much trouble moving as a purse fabric”?,
George , “Ya, thought that would be a mover, but it ain’t, what’s up?”
“Well just got an order for a dog shape purse in that color, that’ll get rid of our blue leather stock, though the order has some specifics that made me scratch my head”
George, “how so?”
“They want it to have the dogs sausage and eggs too”
George, “what have I told you about customer’s order requests?”
“The customer gets what they requested no questions asked?”
George, “that’s right!, now make and ship that baby before they change their minds!!!”
I would have jiu-jitsued the conversation for maximum confusion by giving him a withering look and saying, “Sorry son, it’s not for sale!”
I’m not going to touch this subject with a ten foot pole.
